Armadillos and Louise

I was on my way home from a friend’s last week when my mother pointed out four armadillos rummaging around in someone’s front yard. FOUR ARMADILLOS. In the open, in the middle of the day. It was the weirdest thing. I got as close as two feet away from them, taking photos with my phone. 

So here is a small tribute to the strange creatures

Also, Jenna-Louise Coleman looks adorable as the next Doctor Who companion. I hope I'll like her character as much as I love her fashion sense.

And my sister let me try her Copic markers for the first time. I think I need to get some of my own now.

Pixar's Brave is almost here! Less than two weeks away! I'm going to the midnight premiere with one of my best friends. It's going to be amazing.

Recent Sketches

May was an extremely hectic month for me. Too many things happened in such a short amount of time! Also, I graduated high school. I'm done with it. Woohoo!

Anyway, I bought a new sketchbook in the beginning of May. Although I've been sketching and drawing a lot, I haven't gotten around to uploading much. Here's a small dump of some sketches. More will follow! And I get to go to the zoo on sunday, so be sure for a massive post from that ;)

Zoo Sketches

I visited a zoo today! It's always a lot of fun to sketch the animals from life. Their weight and movement, textures and smells...wonderful.

Side note: the quality of these images is painful. I'm looking for better ways to present my sketches and traditional art online. 

Run, Little Lizard, Run!

Quick animation done in Photoshop. This was my first time to try the video layers! They change everything. 

I realize geckos do not run like that. This little guy's running style was intentional :)

I Spot a Giraffe!

I'm kind of going through a giraffe-frenzy phase, and in the process, I've discovered just how much fun these animals are to draw. They're adorable and funny--so basically, fantastic sketching subjects.
