My personal story / future short film / visdev portfolio project is coming along quite nicely, if I do say so myself. It's not where I wish it to be and I have SO much left to do, learn, and improve on, but it's proving to be the perfect self-assignment to rev up the intensity on my training.

Here are some recent things from my exploration on the look of this film.

And a random practice painting. I saw the light hit the tree outside my window in an interesting way and I couldn't look at it without painting it. Haha.

Sunset Reflection

Recently I caught a glimpse of a river as I was driving past it. When I saw the way that the sunset was reflecting off of the water, I audibly gasped. It was beautiful! Hopefully I've captured the essence of that here in this warm up sketch.

Quick update:

I'm writing, illustrating, and designing a children's book of my own. I'm going to send postcards to publishers, but I will print and sell the book through Blurb if nothing happens. My goal is to have it finished in a year.

And I think I'm going to make a 30 second short film to learn Flash and After Affects. Thanks to classes on Skillshare and various online tutorials, I think I can learn it! Yay.

Ellie

I think the main character in my book might be named Ellie. I'm not sure, though.

Here's a mostly-finished sketch of her. There are going to be some changes, but for now she can just have fun being creative and getting messy.
